About Daniel

I’m the Simulation & Data Science Presales Lead, with experience in applied data science and industrial analytics in the energy sector. I hold a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Heriot Watt University and a Master’s in Processes and Polymers from IFP School (Institut Français du Pétrole) in Paris.

My career began at Axens in Paris, where I worked as a digital application engineer and later as a lead process intelligence engineer. During this time, I helped customers adopt digital technologies to overcome operational challenges, reduce process variability, and move toward operational excellence.

I specialize in bringing data driven intelligence to industrial operations, from performance optimization to improving energy efficiency and supporting decarbonization goals. A key part of my work is hybrid modeling, combining first principles simulation with machine learning to deliver powerful and trustworthy insights.

Looking ahead, I believe the future of industrial operations will be shaped by hybrid digital ecosystems and the wider democratization of simulation. As rigorous process models become more accessible to a broader range of users and applications, organizations will be able to make faster and more confident operational decisions. By bringing together process simulation, high quality data, and AI, plants will be able to drive continuous optimization and move toward increasingly autonomous operations.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking and biking around Scotland, weather permitting!
